Has Bible Camp helped you in any way?
As I was collecting interviews for my "What Kind of Camp is This?" video (coming soon...), I walked by Jaelyn and thought that she would be a great person to interview.
Jaelyn lives in the village of Buckland. And while she originally only came for High School Camp, she memorized the required verses to stay for Discipleship Camp. Additionally, Roger let Jaelyn stay for Junior High and Elementary Camp as a staff member.
So, as I walked by I asked, "Can I interview you?"
"Sure," she said.
When she sat down on the Porcupine Hall steps, I told her, "It's a quick, easy question: Has Bible Camp helped you in any way?" Jaelyn then told me how Bible Camp had encouraged her, and how God had used Bible Camp to convict her and tell her that He wanted her to follow him.
I thought it was such a wonderful and heartfelt interview that I wrote her a note thanking her for sharing her story, and I put the note in her name slot on the encouragement board. (At Kokrine they have an encouragement board that has all of the names of the staff on it. Whenever you want to encourage somebody, all you have to do is write them a note and stick it in that person's slot on the board.)
A few hours later, she wrote me a note back that explained why she had shared what she did. The note said: "Awe, thank you Johnathan. It took some courage, but I thought if I said more about my life it will be a better video and would inspire others also about Christ and show others what Bible camp can do to a person by Christ and the Bible! -Jaelyn"
Please be praying for Jaelyn. She said that she has many struggles with the peer pressure of others wanting her to do things that are wrong. But we have great hopes for her!
