We believe…

…that God created the world and everything including mankind as perfect, a reflection of His perfect character.

“And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.” Genesis 1:31 ESV

Man Rejected God

However, after God created a perfect world mankind chose to reject God by disobeying his command to not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. As a result of the first man’s disobedience and our own disobedience, we all are separated from God due to our sins. God’s word teaches that as a result of man’s rebellion the punishment was a new thing - death, pain, suffering, weeds, thorns, predators . . . everything that is wrong with this world is a result of mankind’s rejection of God.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.” Romans 5:12

Jesus is the Savior

God’s word teaches that sin is punishable by death and the only way to pay for sin is with blood. In the original agreement with Moses, God required the people to sacrifice animals as a payment for sin. The new agreement through the savior of mankind, Jesus Christ, is that we need to confess and turn from our sins and put our faith in Jesus.

It is not that God no longer requires a payment for sin, it is because Jesus paid the penalty for sin as the Son of God. His payment was allowing himself to be crucified on a cross where they drove metal stakes through his hands and feet, and then for hours, he suffered then died in place of believers. Now if you put your trust in His perfect sacrifice and follow Him - you will have eternal life.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

Jesus Washes Away Our Sin

The reason you can have a relationship with God and be allowed to enter His heavenly kingdom is that He no longer remembers your sin. By admitting your sin to Him and trusting in His son, Jesus Christ, you are washed clean. The perfect God of heaven who cannot tolerate disobedience and rebellion no longer sees you as a terrible person who has thought bad things, said bad things, and done bad things. No, when you trust in Jesus all he sees is a righteous man or woman who now loves Him!

“And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Hebrews 10:10 ESV

“I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” Hebrews 10:17 ESV

Grow in God’s Word

What does God expect of people who have put their trust in Jesus Christ, rejected the things they now know are wrong, and decided to follow Him? Well, the shortest answer to that question is: Go find out for yourself. Read God’s word and get to know Him!

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV
