We're at Discipleship Camp
Currently, our whole family is in the center of Alaska at Kokrine Hills Bible Camp. Right now we're in the middle of Discipleship Camp. High Schoolers who want to stay at Kokrine for more Biblical teaching and guidance can attend Discipleship Camp.
Jeff and Billy flew for High School camp last week (see the picture above), and then returned most of the kids to their homes just a few days ago.
Alan (the guy sitting in the center of the lower photo) has been teaching the campers this week about the evidence for the gospel, so they can be certain of the hope of Jesus Christ. Luke says in the introduction to his gospel, "So it also seemed good to me, since I have carefully investigated everything from the very first... so that you may know the certainty of the things about which you have been instructed (Luke 1:3-4)." Alan has carefully investigated the events of the resurrection and is now sharing what he found with the campers so they may know the certainty of the gospel.
Please pray that Discipleship Camp will powerfully impact the kids and staff, that the forest fires wouldn't cause later camps to be canceled, and for the safety of the pilots when they begin flying again after the fourth of July.
Events in June:
At our church's VBS, Ellesha taught the toddlers, Lael acted as the evil duchess in the skit, and Johnathan help with sound effects and made a video for church.
While the Cherokees were being checked in Soldota for issues before camp started, the mechanics discovered a leak in the White Cherokee's (The Way's) pitot/static system. Since the pitot/static system allows many important instruments to work (such as the airspeed and altitude instruments) it needed to be fixed before camp. However, the mechanics couldn't find the leak, and there was a worry it wouldn't be ready for camp. But, the day before the airplane was needed in camp, the mechanics found and fixed the leak. God is good!
Jeff and Billy flew a family back to their home in Galena after they attended a conference in McGrath.
