Kokrine Camps so far

Johnathan with Jaelyn…

and Christy.

A week ago, Johnathan went with Jeff to the beginning of Camp. They got to see friends they made last year like Christy and Jaelyn, and Johnathan got to help set up for the first camp.

The next week, Lael went to Camp with Jeff for the transition between High School Camp and Discipleship Camp. Many of the girls she met last year were not staying until Elementary Camp, so it was good she got to see them before they went home.

At Discipleship Camp they've been studying how the Gospel impacts every day of your life. A recent Kokrine Facebook post said, "Part of discipleship camp is breaking out into small groups, studying the scripture together, and praying for one another. Campers are mentored in the word of God. Praising the Lord for the time we have together!"

Today, Elliana is going with Jeff for the transition between Discipleship and Junior High Camp. Pray that they will be able to get through the smoke from the forest fires and that the fires will not result in any canceled camps this year. A bunch of huge fires are beginning to burn around Alaska, so the future is very uncertain.

June Events

A few days ago, Jeff and Johnathan flew out to the Picnic Strip in the 150. Picnic Strip is an unofficial runway next to the Knik Glacier. People fly there mostly for fun, and probably to have picnics as well...

It was a bumpy landing, but definitely worth the trip, because the strip is right at the foot of the glacier. The glacier photo above was taken there, and Johnathan got a bunch of awesome footage that he's planning on turning into a video soon.

Lael has been collecting sheep. Right now, she has four Shetland sheep, with the two most recent ones being two older lambs named Carl and Willow. Willow is the sheep in the photo.
