Jaelyn Interview

  • Johnathan: Quick, easy question: "Has Bible Camp helped you in any way?"

Jaelyn: Yes, it has helped me in so many ways. But, all the support there has been throughout the week and the encouragements and getting to know one another and having the session every morning and every night and learning about different things. And I love how they always proclaim the gospel instead of preach the gospel. And yeah, it's just getting to know everyone throughout the whole like four weeks now that I've been here.

But yeah, Bible Camp changed me a lot through Christ and through Jesus and all that. And I didn't know God and Jesus until I came here. I was like an atheist. Like I knew God existed, I knew Jesus existed, but I just didn't want to follow him.

There's a lot of like... I noticed signs in my life that God was trying to tell me something that I should repent and believe. And it was when before I came here I was really indecisive I felt like a spiritual warfare. And like I wanted to calm the inside of me like like my evil heart was telling me no, like I should stay and all that. But Daisy was helping me to come down, she was helping me to raise money.

And I was like, "Yeah, I'm just going, end of story. I'm going there. No more indecisive thoughts." Or no more like evil thoughts thinking like something... I don't know like...

And then I came here. I didn't expect my like to stay for four weeks. I thought I was gonna stay for one week. But I stayed for High School, Discipleship, teen—no wait—Junior High, and Elementary now. And throughout the four weeks, God really changed me and my heart and he's changing my mindset right now. And I still can tell that he's doing a lot of change in my life yet since I'm still young. Yeah.
